Pop-up pianos. Ediz. inglese
Pop-Up Pianos documents a two-week musical adventure in New York City. Photographer Lekha Singh traveled through all ve boroughs to document public delight in 88 pianos placed out- doors for all to play - the world's largest "street piano" installation to date, pro- duced by the artists' peace corps Sing for Hope. The colorful pianos, brought to life by artists ranging from Isaac Miz- rahi to Olek to public school children, were placed in locations both iconic and unexpected. Two million New Yorkers - stockbrokers, students, nan- nies, seniors - reveled in the pianos un- der the Brooklyn Bridge, on the Coney Island boardwalk, nestled among sky- scrapers in Midtown, and in full view of the Statue of Liberty.
