Two icons within traditional Norwegian folk music, Sigmund Groven & Knut Buen, have finally worked together to deliver their new album The Sound of Telemark. As renowned musicians on Harding fiddle (Buen) and harmonica (Groven), these are genre defining musicians are among the highest ranks in Norwegian music history. Despite their life long careers where they have met several times along the way, Groven and Buen have never worked together on a specific project. On The Sound of Telemark you will hear a truly authentic mix of traditional folk music in its many variations - some hailing from long ago in Norwegian history, some made by themselves. Buen himself has written many new lyrics that they have composed music to, and have invited Norwegian folk singer Anne Gravir Klykken to perform them. Knut Buen is among the very best Harding fiddle players in Norway, and is also famous for his work as a "rosemaler", as a composer, and poet. Sigmund Groven is one of the best harmonica players in Norway, and is also a composer. He has an international career, having performed in both Carneige Hall and Mozarteum, as well as having playlisted compositions in both South Korea and Hong Kong. Both Buen and Groven have been named Knight 1st Class by The Royal Norwegian Order of Saint Olav.
