International Topical Conference on Plasma Science : Strongly Coupled Ultra-Cold and Quantum Plasmas
The proceedings covers the physics of strongly coupled ultracold neutral and quantum plasmas. Plasmas consist of electrically positively charged particles such as ions and
electrons. Therefore the dynamics of the plasmas are determined by the interaction via electrostatic and electromagnetic fields At low temperatures and high densities the plasmas become strongly coupled and there are transitions from gas state to fluid and solid-like states, and there are quantum effects at playing important roles at very small scales. The dynamics of these systems are therefore complicated and interesting, and have a wide range of applications in industry and basic sciences.
