Lively strawberry-blonde Elocin finds a new job and meets the gnome Zab; the forgotten, imaginary friend of her childhood, all in a day.
Zab's arrival causes chaos in Elocin's life, but once he has exposed her cheating boyfriend, Mervyn, she agrees to return with him to his own planet, to try to help him and his wife, Jewel, to deal with the evil Hagg of the Mountain who has kidnapped their daughter, stolen Zab's magic and hidden the enchanted diamond that will restore everything to the way it was before.
