In the summer of 1947 a "flying disc" crashed into the desert wasteland of a New Mexico ranch. The craft was tracked and located by radar operators from the US Army Air Force, and a recovery team was dispatched to the striken extra-terrestrial vehicle. The strange-looking craft was found to contain the dead bodies of five small humanoid creatures. This monograph by Tim Shawcross, director of the TV documentary "Incident at Roswell", provides an account of the event and its aftermath, including an analysis of the controversial film of an alleged "alien autopsy". The book is based on first-hand, eyewitness accounts of the event itself and of the political and military actions that followed.
