The Social Dimension as a Part of the European Integration Process
The study analyses the role of the social dimension in the European integration from both neofunctionalist and opposing viewpoints. A central conclusion is that the attitude
of the United Kingdom towards questions relating to the social dimension has reduced the significance of social policy reforms within the European Union. It seems obvious
that the former EFTA countries should participate more actively than today in discussions dealing with the social dimension of the Union.
