A hardworking, smart and kind teenage girl named Elizabeth is studying in Singapore when hard times fall upon her family. During the Japanese Occupation, she feels compassion for the British prisoners, and risks her life to bring them food, medicines and radios. She is eventually discovered by the Japanese soldiers and punished by their secret military police.
