The funeral culture has undergone a radical change in recent years. He expresses himself a. in a differentiation of the ways of burial and in a pluralization of attitudes to questions of life and death. Life-world research makes an indispensable contribution - also for church activities - to understanding the change process in our society and the life-specific religious attitudes of people. The book is divided into two parts: In the first part, essential aspects of church funeral activities are reflected and the change in the funeral culture is placed in different scientific horizons. The second part contains a manual that offers concrete suggestions for the organization of an evangelical funeral service for each of the ten Sinus milieus and also takes the preparatory and subsequent steps into consideration. The aim of the book is to provide practical impulses for milieu-sensitive communication of the gospel in the context of the burial.
