Drawing is back! The publication "Drawing Now" presents approximately 40 international works of art that represent drawing today and take it in new directions. The works of art are no longer limited to pencil, ink and paper. A multitude of subjects and forms invite the reader to discover new aspects of this genre. Drawing takes many forms in contemporary art, from the abstract to the representational, from small to monumental formats, from rapidly created sketches to large-scale projects planned in minute detail. In today's drawings, the line extends from the drawing to the wall, expands into space or becomes a video animation. The spectrum of its subjects ranges from personal experiences that are expressed in spontaneous diary entries to political events. This publication explores riveting questions such as how artists express the subjects that are of importance to them in their drawings. Works include those by Silvia Bachli, Michael Borremans, Toba Khedoori, Paul Noble, Robin Rhode, David Shrigley, Sandra Vasquez de la Horra and Jorinde Voigt.
