Since the dawn of culture, man has repeatedly asked himself the enormous question: death or life? Whether you want to go on living or not requires a very personal answer. But even for a suicidal person the decision is not clearer, clearer or simpler, but simply more urgent. The terrible thing about suicidality is precisely this torn between life and non-life. This indecision in the discourse on suicidality is addressed from philosophical, psychiatric-psychological, sociological and cultural-scientific perspectives. It becomes clear that there can be no unambiguous answers, even if we all have the wish that everyone can affirm their life.
