The karst landscape biosphere reserve in the southern Harz Mountains and the Lower Saale Valley Nature Park frame the map section of the cycling and hiking map. The marked paths through the sparsely populated natural landscape are correspondingly extensive. Examples: the rose trail around the rose garden in Sangerhausen; the Luther Trail, which aims at Eisleben as the place where the church reformer was born and died.
