Pericles Sakellarios (1905-1985) was one of the leading figures in Greek architecture between 1936 and 1985. His fifty-year creative career was made possible by the calm relations with his people, his country and his age. The products of his rare abilities and mild modernity include some exemplary buildings and complexes that widely attracted the international architectural press. His works include the USA embassy in Athens, the harbour buildings and the airport of Corfu, Greece, the Greek pavilion in Osaka's World Fair, the Corfu Pallas Hotel etc.
