Britain's role in the peace negotiations after the First World War gave her the opportunity to control - and eventually change the nature of - Palestine, a country with a 90% Arab population, which some Jews in the west wanted to make into a Jewish state. This book describes how that transformation came about, by Britain ignoring the rights of the majority of citizens of Palestine and setting in motion laws and policies which allowed hundreds of thousands of Jews from the rest of the world to colonise Palestine, leading to conflict, violence and eventually war, creating a problem which still festers in the Middle East 65 years later.
