Sports engineering is an interdisciplinary subject that lies somewhere between sports science and engineering, and encompasses physics, biomechanics and a host of other sub-sections of general science.
This book brings together a range of international papers covering design, materials science, biomechanics, instrumentation modelling, mechanics, dynamics and motion analysis. The first section gives an overview of the economics of the sport industry to set the context within which sports engineering research is carried out.
Most sports are covered by the papers within this book, including football, baseball, cricket, tennis and golf, from researchers representing fifteen countries. The subject matter is both interdisciplinary and international and will be of interest to individuals or groups involved in sports-related research.
