What might urban faith be like in the year 2000? Would it be an autonomous faith, believing without belonging, or some personal version of the faith of the Church involving believing and belonging? What is the meaning of life and of belief in a city?

This book records the proceedings of the URBAN FAITH 2000 Conference held in Helsinki 23.-26.9.92. The conference was preceded by a research conference, and it both there was a stimulating atmosphere, and lively discussion of the questions of faith. Papers and lectures were mutually supporting, handling the same questions in different but energetic contexts.
