Astrid Masson is the daughter of game ranger parents and lives in Africa. Lana Cooper lives in a run-down town in the north of England and resides with her obnoxious parents. The destinies of the two girls collide after a series of strange and tragic events. They meet at a college in the Highlands of Scotland and discover that they each bear an identical special mark. It is a mark given by the Ancients to those who will be warrior priests and priestesses. Special powers accompany the sign - powers to be used to fight against evil. They use these powers for good until malevolent forces seduce them into the service of the evil Dark Lord.
