Workshop on Instabilities of High Intensity Hadron Beams in Rings : Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, NY, USA, 28 June - 1
Very high intensity proton beams are being used for production of short-lived secondary particles, such as kaons, muons, or neutrons. The stability of these high intensity beams is determined by the internal space charge forces and the interaction with the surrounding environment. These proceedings present the current state of the art of instability and impedance calculations as well as experimental observations of high intensity beam instabilities. A summary of open questions and future research directions is also provided.
