As will be seen in this history of the Yorkshire Freemason Lodges, the author avoided becoming the historian; rather attempting to excite so much interest by defining the landmarks of history, as may tend to inspire confidence, and thereby induce one in every Lodge, but more particularly for those of the last century, to produce a Lodge History.
