From its original settlement along the banks of the River Leen to its recent demolition and redevelopment, the Radford area of Nottingham has always been a colourful working-class district, with a wide range of industries and a rich sense of community. This fascinating collection of over 200 old photographs and other documents records the history of this vibrant area over the course of the twentieth century. The author has lived in the area for many years and has amassed an extensive collection of photographs charting the changes of recent decades. These images are accompanied throughout by informative captions, compiled from contributions by many local residents and workers.
