In 2018, during his fourth trip to Japan, Richard Galliano, the maestro of the accordion, gave three solo concerts at a classical music festival in Tokyo. On the second night, the atmosphere was especially great and thankfully the wonderful rapport between the artist and his audience has been captured in this recording.
The album bears witness to his unique talent for bringing his personal sensitive touch to composers from all backgrounds. From masters of classical music (Bach, Debussy, Chopin) to Brazilian tunes, while not forgetting, of course, some French popular music illustrated by Musette. Moreover, the album contains six unreleased tracks including a tribute to Michel Legrand, the famous French composer.
