In the past, resurgences of interest in the writings of St. Augustine have been times of excitement and advance in the history of Christianity. Augustinian thought brings great insight and levels of meaning to the Christian community, both Roman Catholic and Protestant. This volume, then, is an attempt to use Augustine-based reflections to relate the thoughts of one of the greatest of the early Christian writers to the thought and life of our time.
