The lectures found in this book were delivered as the Haskell Lectures in the Theological Seminary of Oberlin College, Ohio. The lectures are confined to the ethical side of Christ's teaching. The reader, particularly and theologian into whose hands the book may fall, is asked to remember that this little book is not intended primarily as a contribution towards the solution of critical or historical problems.
