Symposium on the Superconducting Science and Technology of Ingot Niobium
This book covers the content of the presentations given at the International Symposium on the Superconducting Science & Technology of Ingot Niobium, held at Jefferson Lab on Sept. 22-24, 2010. The latest results of the research on the science and technology of ingot niobium were presented by experts from laboratories and universities throughout the world. Ingot niobium is a promising new technology to fabricate superconducting radio-frequency (SRF) cavities for particle accelerators. The possibility of achieving high performance SRF cavities with reduced material cost by using ingot niobium would enable the construction of low-cost linear accelerators for basic research and industrial applications.
