Western society has lost its moral balance. The decline of the pervasive belief in a consoling unquestionable hereafter should be replaced by a new sense of belonging to a common destiny, which can be lived and enjoyed without strife. But humanity needs a guide. And the basic teachings of the Quran, transformed into a modern set of principles which are unchangeable and universal could provide such a guide.
