R. W. Seton-Watson (1879–1951) was a British historian and activist who played an important role in European political affairs, most notably during the break-up of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. First published in 1934, this book presents a detailed account of Romanian history by Seton-Watson, beginning with a description of the origins of Romanian identity during Roman times and moving through to the completion of national unity in the 1918–20 period.
