This volume in honour of Prof. P.H.L. Eggermont, Indologist and Classicist, is focused on North and Northwest India, and on the adjacent regions to the west, with special attention to the Hellenistic monarchies, the historical geography of India, the ancient trade routes, and the contacts between India, Greece and Rome. The contributions of this "Festschrift" provide a bulk of material, especially for those interested in relations between Classical and Oriental philological, historical, archaeological, and geographical sources.
