Statistics and research methodology: A gentle conversation is a textbook meant for undergraduate and graduate student taking a statistics and research methodology class. The intent of this textbook is to present statistics in a way that is, we hope, easy to understand. Yes, there are new terms to learn, but in the end, not really that many. Yes, there is a little math, but not anything other than addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. No, statistics is not that complicated. This book is a "teaching" textbook, in that it provides students with the background and processes used in statistics, but the instructor plays an important role in the learning process. He or she can focus on the questions that they feel best address the types of problems that you will be exposed to in your respective fields of study. While this textbook uses mostly psychology-based examples, statistics is statistics and can be used in any field, so the problems can be tailored to your field of study by your instructor.
