The book explores how the various units were organized and opened up to women, their evolution from WW I and their task on the Western Front 39-40, in the French Colonies and the foreign service( Finland).
These French women served in many charities linked with the war: Parisian dining halls, soldier's homes, sewing rooms, reception centers, sanitary posts, hospital ships, and war charities.
The book also covers their fate during the Blitzkrieg of May - June 1940 and, last but not least, their specific uniforms, insignia and medals.
