This book of interviews is conceived as an introductory text to the field of Science and Technology Studies (STS). Pinch guides readers through their first, but still in-depth, exploration of the fundamental concepts and debates in the field of STS, from its origins to its most recent developments. The text is aimed to students closer to the discipline, as well as to researchers and scholars in all fields of study strongly influenced nowadays by STS. The theoretical parts of the book are complemented by more historical and narrative sections, which delineate the academic and intellectual context in which the field took form, and what took place behind the scenes: from the death threats received upon publication of the book The Golem (in which the authors frontally attacked the traditional notion of scientific truth and the theory of evolution), to the "science wars" with physicians and scientists.
