Kistefos, Norway's preeminent home for contemporary sculp-ture since the late nineteen-nineties, offers globally-recog-nized artworks in a spectacular and atmospheric rural setting. The museum's principal purpose is to preserve and develop what is today a technical and industrial monument of nation-al importance. This book is the museum's first major publi-cation about its collection and not only documents works by artists such as Lynda Benglis, Tony Cragg, and Olafur Eliasson, among many others in the collection, but also marks the open-ing of a new building designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) architects. It offers extensive written and visual material on the beautiful and innovative "twisted bridge" exhibition space that will open to the public in the summer of 2019. The book provides a comprehensive understanding of Kistefos's history, collection and architecture through essays that are accompa-nied by specially-commissioned images by renowned photog-rapher Helene Binet.
