Development of Eco-efficiency of Base Stations by means of the MIPS indicator
This study examines the development the development of eco-efficiency of Nokia base stations using MIPS indicator. The results of the study indicate that the eco-effeciency of Nokia base stations has multiplied from one product to another during the 1990s. New product development and technologiacal innovations enable the new base stations to be produced with only a fraction of the materials need for older base stations. Services, that is, phone calls, can thus be delivered using considerably fewer natural resources.
