In this Chinese legend, on his death bed, master calligrapher Wu-Lung asks his equally-skilled son, I-Lung, to promise never to write the Lotus Sutra teaching. When the provincial ruler forces him to break his promise, I-Lung is plagued with guilt--until a surprise visitor brings him astonishing and wonderful news.
