Soul Food: Nourishing the Spirit
The "Soul Food" in this book of poetry reaches the inner spirit. I am so mystified by the spirit, the soul of my Black people who have endured it all. With only a thought of the present of God, they remained hopeful and preserved their future that ensured my (Our) presence here. It was not through an anger or contempt for self that our people found an answer, it was in a good spirit. Even, without the Psalms of David, soul food they did eat. Without certainty or for surety did they rely on others? While there were those who helped them because they believed there is something in a blue sky. It may have been all that was certain. There is a certain humility that still is understood, even in impossibility, that makes all things possible.
