Flora of Bhutan: Orchids of Bhutan v. 3, Pt. 3 - Including a Record of Plants from Sikkim and Darjeeling
The Orchids of Bhutan forms the concluding part of the Flora of Bhutan. As with earlier parts of the Flora, it also includes a full treatment of species occurring in Sikkim, the Darjeeling District of West Bengal and the Chumbi Valley of Tibet. Orchidaceae is the largest family in the area, with species being found in almost every habitat from subtropical forest to alpine meadows. This range of habitats, together with the geographical position of Bhutan, accounts for the huge diversity of the family and no fewer than 132 genra and 579 species are confirmed for the area and described here.
