This textbook offers students a comprehensive introduction to biological anthropology, including such diverse topics as principles of evolution, macroevolution from fish to modern humans, and forensics.

The book’s paradigm is that controversial issues in biological anthropology should be decided based on evidence rather than authority.  Standard topics of evolutionary principles, dating techniques, macroevolution with an emphasis on primates, and the evolution of hominids from early to modern all serve to expose students to the complexities of human evolution.  An application chapter focuses on practicing ‘good’ forensic anthropology.
