Anthropologist Patai analyses the cultural differences, and the problems of integration, of Israeli immigrants. This is an enlarged and revised edition of the 1953 publication. Since then, Dr. Patai has concluded that there can be no true occidental-oriental synthesis in Israel: the style of life is western, so western culture will predominate.
