The life of one of the greatest saints who lived in the Egyptian Desert. St. Paisios lived during the fourth century and this life was composed by the later Egyptian saint John the Dwarf. In addition to the life of St. Paisios and the main liturgical hymns in his honor, this volume offers a part of the life of St. John the Dwarf. This edition is translated from the Greek text finalized by St. Nikodemos of the Holy Mountain in the Eighteenth century. The stories and sayings found in these lives communicate a vision of a world where the earthly and heavenly realms are intertwined and the supernatural is seen as commonplace.
