In 1899 Ernst Ludwig, Grand Duke of Hesse-Darmstadt, summoned Olbrich - and six other artists - to the Mathildenhohe artists' colony at Darmstadt. And there a very productive phase began for Olbrich although it would end all too soon - on his untimely death in 1908. This work commemorates the centenary of this artist's death.
