Mimei Ogawa is by birth a mystic. His is the vision of the true aesthete. In Rose and Witch, he creates moods so tangible as only to be suggested by the sighing of the breeze among the reeds in late summer. The other stories in this collection are in the author's later style, which becomes more and more the subjective transmuting of thoughts and emotions into perfect symbols.
