Choose Me One Cry is a cry of an electorate abandoned after being used during election. This abandonement can either be physical as seen when those elected abandon the electorates to serve the interest of their own, parties or party chiefs, intellectual; in the case of mediocre representation, or resourcefulness; manifestable in lack of economic creativity. Simply put, it is lack of everything as is the case of Kenyan politics. By extension, this is the cause, I can say candidly, of all that backwardness or whatever term that befits what we experience over there in Africa. It is so sad that this small chip off the larger attempt by man to self organize has gendered so much a disorganization. Not many Kenyans would say that their lives improved due to any government change. In this book, an elected member of parliament who formed a near romantic relationship with the locals before a political marrige is equated with a beautiful woman who charmed a man into marriage only to run away thereafter. It is all cries please choose me one. It will also be noticed in this book that as in many African traditions, a loved one bears so many pet names or names of praise.
