This is a guide for the practising GP on how to help in the management of patients presenting with pain or other common distressing symptoms. The book is split into two sections; pain management and a detailed review of pain control techniques, and palliation and an exploration of the methods of symptom control available for use in the community. It also devotes a section to terminal illness and the new GMS contract.
