She lives in a catholic orphanage with her best friend, a Japanese girl named Kyoto whose English isn't always on par. The nun who looks after the unit she is in, is Sister Ann who also has a secret or two. Maria struggles to send Demons back to the underworld, while maintaining her secret from everyone.
