1924. This book contains Volume I (Translation) and Volume II (Commentary) of the original work. The Haft Paikar, or the Seven Beauties, contains the life and adventures of King Bahram Gur, and the seven stories told him by his seven queens. It is here translated from the Persian and a commentary is added. The text for the translation was prepared mainly from the manuscripts and lithographed texts of the India Office Library, both of which, by the liberality of the Indian Government, can be borrowed by the student for use at home.
