He experienced the years before the Second World War as a young child in Germany where he was trained to become one of the future members of the Nazi party. After the Second World War his life was shattered because all that he had known so far crumbled. In the US he learned, for the first time in his life, what freedom really meant. From his life during the war, he concludes that the West could have finished the war much earlier by allowing Hitler to capitulate, thereby preventing the many deaths and terrible devastation of Europe. In his opinion, the British and certain minority groups in the US were more interested in revenge than to establish peace in Europe.
