Object Songs by composer Nico Muhly is a collection of six distinct pieces that were written in collaboration with illustrator and author Maira Kalman. Composed in 2014, the piece was commissioned by New York's Cooper Hewitt Design Museum and is arranged for Soprano Voice, Clarinet, Trumpet, Violin and Viola. This item contains the Full Score and Parts . Object Songs is a unique work, originally performed in the Music Room in the Cooper Hewitt Museum. It was composed as a response to the room within the Museum that Maira Kalman created, and the objects chosen to be displayed within them. Object Songs certainly isn't like any piece you'll have ever performed before, featuring the sound of a ticking watch that fades in and out, inspired by Abraham Lincoln's pocket watch, which was made to tick again in 2014.
