The Master Mind a Detective Story
1927. A Detective Coquenil mystery set in Paris, The Master Mind begins: Aristide Moineau was a shy saxophone player at Langer's smart dancing place on the Champs Elysees; he was a tall thin person with large bloodless ears very flat against his black hair, also a long pointed nose and receding chin, with pale blinking blue eyes, so that he looked like a fish, or perhaps more like a bird by reason of his nervous feminine movements; at any rate he had the inoffensiveness of a bird, and so his name was entirely appropriate.
