ISA has developed a series of Best Management Practices (BMPs) for the purpose of interpreting tree care standards and providing guidelines of practice for arborists, tree workers, and the people who employ their services.
This BMP provides practitioners with what industry experts consider to be the most appropriate integrated vegetation management (IVM) techniques in use today. This edition provides an approach that can be applied to a broad array of applications, while appendices provide more specific information on:
Electric Utility IVM.
Pipeline IVM.
Railway IVM.
Roadway IVM.
Environmental Stewardship.
Soil Health.
Herbicide.
It also serves as a companion publication to the American National Standard for Tree Care Operations—Tree, Shrub, and Other Woody Plant Management—Standard Practices (Integrated Vegetation Management) (ANSI A300, Part 7). The second edition of this BMP is also available in Spanish.
