In the late 1800's, few journeys held out the promise and excitement of a trip along the Oregon Trail.  Will Paget, a young farm boy, will learn this firsthand when his grandfather purchases a ranch out West, and he, his mother and sister, among others embark on what is to become the greatest adventure of their lives.  For Will, the Trail offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy the wilderness and teach Carrie, the beautiful daughter of 2 fellow travelers, the survival skills he learned as a boy.  He little knows, however, how soon Carrie will be needing them, as the wagon train encounters outlaws, kidnappers, thieves, and many other travails along the way.  Together the two become the heroes of the journey, dear to the hearts of all their fellow travelers - and to each other.
