Flying Carpets is the catalogue for the French Academy in Rome - Villa Medici's Flying Carpets exhibition, and features over 70 images and a series of essays. The catalogue examines the use of flying carpets in art and cinema, and discusses how they can produce effects of movement and enlivenment. It is edited by curator of films at the National Museum of Modern Art Georges Pompidou in Paris, Philippe-Alain Michaud. Also included are introductions by Eric de Chassey, Director of the French Academy in Rome, and Oliver Michelon, Director of the Musee des Abattoirs of Toulouse.
