Peggy McCardle grew up in rural central Pennsylvania. She has wanted to be a writer since she was five years old. She works as a research administrator and sometimes as a science writer, but poetry and fiction are what she loves to write. While she has coauthored two books, Change of Heart and Echo! Five! Hotel! with Brian Hartford, and has published some of her individual poems in magazines, this is the first published collection of her poetry. Many of her poems are autobiographical, yet they carry a sense of the universality of nature and human nature. McCardle lives in Maryland with her husband and two cats, and makes frequent visits "home" to Pennsylvania.
